 Matt Krumrie has ten years of experience as a writer, editor and Web Communications professional. He has had over 2,000 articles published in over 50 newspapers, magazines and Web sites. For more information on who Krumrie has worked with, please check out his client list section.
After graduating from Mankato State University (Mankato, Minnesota) in 1996 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Krumrie took his first job as a sports/news reporter for the Burnett County Sentinel in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, where he covered three high schools and local news for a small weekly newspaper. From there he moved to a daily newspaper, the Fort Dodge Messenger, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, where he worked as a sports reporter covering local, high school and college sports in Iowa. He then returned to the Twin Cities where he became editor of Twin Cities Employment Weekly.
After Twin Cities Employment Weekly was shut down in 2002, Krumrie embarked on a freelance writing career, where he wrote for numerous newspapers, magazines and Web sites. In 2003 he began writing a weekly column for the Star Tribune Jobs section. The column – featured each Sunday in the Jobs section – consisted of career, workplace and employment advice for job seekers, professionals and career-minded individuals throughout the Twin Cities. Krumrie still writes that column today, and has added the popular Ask Matt column, a monthly question-and-answer style employment advice column.
In the spring of 2004 Krumrie started working as the Senior Editor of TheWrestlingMall.com (TWM), a Minneapolis-based Web site that covered the sport of amateur wrestling, with a heavy emphasis on college wrestling. He also served as interim editor and publisher of Minnesota Prep Sports, a monthly publication covering Minnesota high school sports, as well as interim editor and designer for Midwest Wine Connection and Minnesota Racing Connection. While holding those positions he continued to build his business and add new clients and projects.
Krumrie worked at TWM for two years as Senior Editor before leaving for a position as Web Content Editor on the national marketing team with RSM McGladrey, Inc., in Minneapolis. RSM McGladrey is the nation’s fifth-largest tax, accounting and business consulting firm in the nation. Krumrie works on a Web team that manages the daily operations of a 1,100 page corporate Web site.
